Tangled Up In Blue

It might seem this blog has strayed from its original intent, and in part it has done.  Besides not writing for months I have turned the blog into poetry corner.  Why? Not writing is mostly about Winter.  It is a bad time of year for me; I need warmth and sunshine to thrive and make hay. My brain just curls up into a tight little ball and refuses to come out and play.  Fortunately I have a job that a zombie could do ( they're not real you know).  No one at the job even notices the blanker than usual stare.  As for the poetry I lay that off an incredible amount of sleep and better living through chemistry.  I sleep 10-12 hours a night and it is wonderful.  Sure I am awake fewer hours but I have the energy to pack a lot of high quality action into those hours.  The chemistry part is down to my therapist who is an artiste and magician.  A slight tweak of my meds and suddenly I want to be Emily Dickinson.

And then there is the Humanism.  Where has the focus on that aspect gone?  It's still there just buried a little deeper for the time being.  You see for me Humanism is as simple as humans trying to find "the better angels of our nature" (angels aren't real you know).  A whole bunch of people can say that much better than I can...and god bless 'em I just love them for it. (god's not real you know).  Their insights, intellects, and explanations make the path easier to find and follow.  It is a tricky and difficult path but I am finding the effort well worth it.  So for now I will follow Bob Dylan's lead, "...the only thing I knew how to do was to keep on keeping on...".

That's all I have for now.
